Scope of application:
It is used to determine the performance of crushed stone or gravel after soaking in saturated sodium sulfate solution for many times and drying cycles, which can withstand the crystallization pressure of sodium sulfate without significant damage or strength reduction. It is a method to determine the firmness (also known as stability) of stone. It is an important index to describe the frost resistance of aggregate.
Standard:
The aggregate soundness tester conforms to JTG E42-2005 specification for aggregate test of highway engineering.
The test shows that for the same rock, when it is rolled into gravel, the rolling process destroys the original state of the rock, resulting in lower frost resistance of the aggregate than that of the original state of the rock. Therefore, in addition to testing the soundness of the original rock, the soundness of the rolled aggregate should also be tested.
